How to Choose the Right Window Tint
Due to the fact that there are hundreds of different types of window tints and brands, choosing the right window tint can seem daunting as first. We always recommend prioritizing your goals and needs in order to start determining which investment is right for you. Are you seeking to improve energy efficiency or would you like to optimize your security benefits? Do you have a certain aesthetic you’re looking for? Once you have determined your priorities and goals, we can help you choose the right window tint solution for your residential or commercial property.
Calculating Actual Installation Costs
Once you’ve determined what type of window tint you need, the next step is to calculate the cost of the actual installation process. Though all installations vary because every building is different, there are generally three variables that affect the total cost:
- The cost to manufacture the tint
- The size/intensity of the project
- The quality of the service being performed
Cost of manufacture: Cheap tints may cost less but usually don’t last as long since they’re just thin sheets of dyed polyester. Higher quality window tints cost more because they are made of more expensive materials like silver, ceramic, and high grade polyester, and offer higher performance.
Project size/intensity: Larger projects typically cost more because they require a larger crew and more materials. Difficult installs on nontraditional or hard to access sites can also be more time consuming, which also affects the price. However, large commercial projects are sometimes eligible for a discounted rate.
Quality of service: The quality of the workmanship should also be taken into consideration. While a smaller company may be cheaper, they may also not be as experienced. A larger company will have more experience and can generally produce better and more rapid results. Large companies, like ours, also generally include a warranty with their work.
General Price Estimates
Window tint prices are usually calculated per square foot. Prices vary depending on the type of tint and the brand. However, here are some general estimates on commonly used window tint products:
